I Fought A Disney Princess Toddler Bed...

And Won!!

(Barely..)

On Friday night armed with nothing more than my tools from the junk drawer and a Mic Ultra Lite I proceeded into battle (er, assembly) of the bed in JuneBug's room. I went in prepared and had read the reviews.. most loved the bed but many had the same two complaints:

1) Missing Parts..

(Nope.. I'm good!)

2) Holes drilled too small so that bolts, screws, etc don't fit making the job take three times longer and beyond frustrating..

BINGO!

My friends, I don't have a cordless drill. DH obviously does but I have no (zero, zip, zilch) desire to go rummaging through his manly garage/barn looking for it. Believe me when I say this is NOT a complaint. If it is taken as such I know darn well that I'll end up with a set for my birthday and really, I'm not down for that... so SHHHH!

Anyway..

Me and my handy dandy Phillips head screwdriver went to town on a gazillion screws and bolts.. that didn't fit.. I used a flat head screwdriver to carve out the metal. Did I mention the gazillion screws and bolts? Ya, my hands were throbbing. At hour number three I was only this far:

I cannot tell a lie and must admit I had a few choice words for Belle and friends by then...

That all being said, it was well worth the hair-greying frustration and inoperative hands because it's all for JuneBug:

:o)

  2. I feel your pain. I assembled some shelving the other day and had to go to the hardware store to buy a mallet. My lovely neighbors who own the hardware store asked if I was going to beat my hubby with it....hmmmm......

  7. Awesome!
I advise you go to the next step, which is to jump on the bed. A lot. Like you're a kid again. Go ahead and find out right now what part of the bed will break first. Get it fixed and over with.
Not that I know anything about little girls. And beds.

  8. OMG! How much does she love it?! And why, oh why must those things be so difficult to assemble?! Hubby and I felt ahead of the curve this past year when we started assembling Christmas the day before Christmas Eve - just in case.
