The Ties That Bind.. A Bloggy Shout Out

Most of you already know Kadi Prescott as a blogger extraordinaire, loving wife and super mom to SEVEN beautiful kiddos. You might even recognize her and her brood from their Super Nanny episode last season or from an aisle at a SuperTarget.

At first glance you may only notice her physical beauty. She's simply stunning and has killer sense of style (have you seen her shoes?!). Give the girl a minute of your time and you'll find there's way more to her than what's on the outside. What lies beneath is a wicked sense of humor, intellect, beauty ... and a huge, giving heart.

I can say that because I know from personal experience.

With their platters already overflowing and lives thoroughly jam packed, Kadi and her husband came by my side to help me with a situation involving my father. Being out of state my hands were tied and they were my eyes and ears. I will forever be grateful to them for what they did and what they tried to help us accomplish.

Most of you are her readers that are kind enough to come visit my blog. I have no problem with pity and LOVE that you surf on over!! The other (what, 2?) of you that haven't yet had the pleasure, please head on over and give my little cousin a big ole howdy do! She's my bloggy inspiration and I hope I'm half the Mommy she is. You can visit her at A Womb At The Inn(Sane) and also at the Super Nanny Web Site. A word of warning.. she tells it like it is.. there is no fluff.

Pictured is part of my wonderful family at Christmas.. some of my dearest memories revolve around these amazing people. That adorable baby girl is Miss Kadi and the dork in the Mom Made Vest would be yours truly. That's gotta be some form of abuse..

Another Bloggy Shout Out!

One of my DMR's (Daily Must Reads) is My New Normal. It is a wonderful blog by a stay at home mommy in sunny Florida. Not only do they have a beautiful little girl named Makily that has Emanuel Syndrome but they are also foster parents and are hoping to adopt their little man, "J". She is a fantastic writer.. she'll have you laughing, cheering and crying.

When you have a few minutes, please surf on over and visit Trish .. You'll be glad you did! :o)

More Favorite Bloggers

Lori lives right here in Colorado and writes for several blogs (her own and as a contributing editor). One of my favorites is Drama 2B Mama that chronicled her journey through the lands of infertility then finally to their two private adoptions. Also, you can find her daily musings at Weebles Wobblog.

What's really cool is that Lori has a very close relationship with her daughter's birth mom (Crystal) and you can find her thoughts at Crystal's Way. As an adoptee, reading the birth mother's side of adoption is truly an inspiring insight.

Surf on over and show these great ladies some love!

These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things..

Since starting this little ditty, I've immersed myself into the world 'o blogs and (like everyone) have many that are my daily "must reads". I thought it would be cool every so often to do a shout out for them and encourage others to surf on over and check 'em out.

One of my hands down, absolute favorites is "Postcards From Insanity": http://afostermamaslife.blogspot.com/ It is wonderfully written by a woman that not only investigates child abuse but was also a foster parent for years. Her posts are from several years back, taken from entries in her journals and she also gives wonderful advice for us newbies. I recommend starting from the very beginning to get caught up with current posts. She has her "cast of characters" on her sidebar to help keep everyone straight.

She no longer fosters (something major happened that we have yet to read about) but still has awesome words of wisdom. If you are considering adoption, are a foster parent who can relate or just want to read a blog that will make you laugh, cry, shout out in anger and shout for joy it's a must read.

A warning.. it's not for the faint of heart but neither is the reality of being a foster parent.
