My First Award Of 2010!

This lovely honor was bestowed upon my lil ole blog by my dear friend SocialWrkr24/7 at Eyes Opened Wider. She is a 20-something social worker trying to make the world a better place one child at a time. Please check out her blog when you have a chance.. she's totally Duckie! Seven Things About Moi you might not know (or care to know..):

(Feel free to scroll on past--My life isn't exactly a Disney thrill ride)
1) We have 7 dogs (2 min pins and 1 foster min pin --but we've had her for 1.5 years and she's is 14 years old-my little old lady--1 dobe, 1 husky, 1 mastiff-lab and Nantie has a Dalmatian). We really do have a herd of canines.
2) We have 0 cats.
3) Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.
4) Fall is my favorite season.
5) My all time favorite writer is Erma Bombeck. How could you not love a woman who wrote ditties like, "Housework is a treadmill from futility to oblivion with stop offs at tedium and counter productivity..." Seriously, she was a National Treasure.
6) We have 2 kids that trick or treat at our house every year but, by golly, I've got several bags of candy already stashed. I have a Plan B if more don't show..
7) I'm a self proclaimed social media addict. R/T, m'kay?

*I've travelled through Europe but it didn't really count (I was 18 and we were more excited we could drink legally than anything else.. Mona Lisa who?). Gotta get back and do it right!

*When in the right frame of mind I'm a lean, mean cleaning machine (ie: cleaning house is my therapy).

*Gardening is also therapy.

*Oh yeah, so is blogging.

*Blue is my favorite color (more like turquoise.. the color of the ocean in Hawaii, the Keys, all things island).

*I love the mountains but will always be a beach girl at heart, as well.

*I wish I made more time to read.

*I hope to get back into cooking.

*I have the best family and friends EV-ER and couldn't ask for a better husband (and no, he's not a reader so I'm not sucking up).

*I wish I could go back in time and tell Mama all the things I should've said while she was alive (and spend more quality time with her).

I'm Feeling Rather Fab-u!

My dear cousin Kadi bestowed some wonderful lovin' on my little ole blog. The word is I am to reveal five of my addictions then pass the award on to some of the blogs I deem fabulous.. Here we go:

1) Twist ties. I save every single one I get my hands on. Please don't ask why for I have not a clue (those little boogers do come in handy, though).

2) Blogging. Duh.

3) Candy Cane Hershey Kisses (peppermint flavored white chocolate? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I have them on my desk at work and I am NOT sharing.. Ho Ho Ho!).

4) Coffee in one of my monstrous mugs, 3 spoonfuls of sugar and a dollop of Coffee-mate Fat Free Original Creamer. (And keep 'em comin'!)

5) Checking the answering machine for messages (and scrolling through caller id to see if I've missed "The Call" from the county). Freaky Me.
