The Kindness of Others..

When we got the call for Mannie and Little Miss Sunshine we literally had a couple hours between the the time I hung up til they arrived on the doorstep. Jack and Jill had only left a mere 4 days prior and we were spinning (to put it nicely). The biggest concern?

We needed baby stuff real quick like.

We had plenty of toys for Mannie and even some clothes if needed but nothing (zero, nada, zippo, ziltch) for baby. Above and beyond what she came with (diapers, clothes, toys and a can of formula) what about a crib? Stroller? Bounce chair? Playpen?

Fail.

My coworker (and honorary little sister) Michelle came through in a huge way that very night. As our new social worker filled out paperwork at the table 'Chelle and her kids unloaded baby clothes out the ying yang, the playpen, a bounce chair, binkies, bottles and toys. Auntie MooMoo put the word out and her wonderful friends Chris and Debbie came through and loaned us a crib, high chair and baby back pack.

Life savers one and all!!

Thank you everyone for your amazing generosity! To say we would've been in a massive pickle had it not been for your wonderful support is an understatement. I did bake 3 batches of chocolate chip cookies with the intent of giving them as a humble thank you gift. Er, I'll be baking another 3 batches again this weekend an I PROMISE this time they will be delivered.

There are blessings and angels everywhere!!!

Another Reason Why My People Rock

Not long ago I wrote about a quote I had heard on the radio that really stuck with me. Low and behold, a little package arrived at work today. There was no note and no name of a sender. In it was this magnet..

Thank you to my wonderful mystery friend for my very meaningful gift. We've hit a pretty rough patch and seeing this every day will bring us much needed comfort, for sure.

Mile High Mamas & All About Kids Expo '09

I want to throw a big huge, "THANK YOU!!!" out to my wonderful friends at

I was just contacted by Amber that I won a family four pack to the All About Kids Expo in Denver!

How cool is that?!!!?? Can I just say Jack and Jill are going to come UNGLUED when they hear the news!

Undoubtedly the rest of the family is going to want to come along as well. That's just how we roll. So, if any of you head over to the Expo (because YOU SHOULD!) and see two adorable twins with an entourage of adults, that's us. Please feel free come on over and say, "HI!"

Thanks again, Amber!! I will be sure to take loads of pics and blog all about it!

A Thank You and Other Ramblings..

First of all, I wanted to send out a HUMONGO THANK YOU to the ladies of MomDot, What's That Smell? and A Womb At The Inn(Sane) for getting the word out about The Guessing Game Giveaway. Never before (and probably ever again) will my little blog see the likes that monstrous traffic! There were tons of new guesses. You ladies are THE BEST!!

Secondly (like all of you), I am heaving a huge sigh of relief that election day is finally here. The nasty tv ads will cease, no more junk mail and our phone will finally get a rest. I wish there was some to advise all parties when you send your mail in ballot so they would stop the nonsense... but no such luck. I mean come on, has anyone actually taken a call and been so moved by what was said that they changed their vote? Seriously?

The downside of mailing my ballot in early? I DON'T get an "I Voted!" sticker and lose out on:
*A Free Krispy Kreme doughnut
*A tall cup of joe from Starbucks
*An egg roll from a Chinese fast food joint (the name escapes me now)
*A scoop of Ben and Jerry's ice cream

The upside: I won't be packing on the pounds (er, today).

Be safe and patient out there today!!
