Exhale..

For the first time in 10 months, our house has been childless for more than 4 days. The trip to the coast and a chaotic week that followed had us spinning. There was just no time to think. It was a good distraction however, you have to face reality sometime.

That time is now.

It's like going from 5th gear to 1st. Flying along then screeching to a halt.. feeling the grinding gears the whole way. On top of it all, the house was in desperate need of tlc and laundry rose to the ceiling. Overwhelming yes but time to regroup. Pronto-like.

I spent Saturday morning dilly dallying (my Twitter friends can attest to that) and found it hard to focus. Not used to having more than 2 hours to myself (if that) having a whole day really threw me for a loop. Eventually I got my act together and a few things on my list got accomplished.

So, what's next?

The plan is to take a few months off from fostering to recover. To focus on the accomplishments and learn from the mistakes. We need to be healthy (mind, body and soul) for our next placements. Those plans would change, however, if we get a call that Jack and Jill or Mannie and Sunshine come back into the system.

Of course, my little ole blog will continue and I may have some other projects coming up as well (guest posts and other fun things up my sleeve).

Ya'll ain't getting rid of me that easily!!

I'm glad to hear you are taking time to catch your breath. You'll know when it's time to jump back in.

I'll stay tuned to see what's next!

Happy Sunday!

How exciting! Sounds like you needed a break. I know that when I have not had kids or even just had 3 instead of 5, I feel that same grinding halt that you talked about. I actually find that I get less productive when I have fewer kids. It's crazy, but if I have an hour to myself I end up taking 4 or more. Give me an inch and I take a mile sort of thing. Enjoy the break. You deserve it!!!

Ya know...I really HATE when I get behind in my reading. I had no idea they were gone. You deserve the time to heal my friend. Take it and enjoy it. The time will come when you (and your huge heart and family) will be needed again.

Big hugs!
